Dressed For Success Page 30
Two interesting little notes about this page. One is the sound effect in panel two. Jeff normally does all the lettering and effects, but when I was commenting on last weeks page I mentioned this page hit with a crash. Then I looked at it again and realised it didn’t, or at least, there was nothing to indicate that it did, so I added the smash effect. The second thing is Celeste’s line in panel three. Not sure where yet, but somewhere we’ve talked about using that line, either in advertising or on a shirt or something. It’s a very movie line, not quite what someone would naturally say, people don’t tend to speak in clever quotes. Well, maybe Joss Whedon or Kevin Smith.

“faster would be better” I say that to my wife everytime she is running late. Ok I don’t but I am starting now.

Actually, the line that Celeste uses in the last panel is lifted directly from the Joss Whedon film “Serenity”. It is a line that Mal says when they are being chased by the Reavers.

Okay, did you mention that when we wrote it? Or is that just your encyclopedia of moviedom slipping in. Either way, I guess there’s a reason it sounded like Whedon.
